Where can I find my ORI Number?

Your ORI number is assigned by the agency, employer, or licensing authority that requires your background check. If you’re not sure what your ORI number is, please contact the organization requesting your fingerprints — they will provide the correct code. Due to the wide range of ORI numbers and the importance of accuracy, we are not authorized to advise or determine which ORI number should be used for your specific submission.

An OCA (Originating Case Agency) number is a unique identifier assigned to the specific organization or employer requesting your fingerprint-based background screening. It is most commonly used for applicants under the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) and helps the regulatory agency identify which exact entity initiated the fingerprint request.

What documents should I bring to my fingerprinting appointment?

Please bring at least one valid form of government-issued identification, such as a driver’s license, state ID, or passport. If you do not have identification issued by the State of Florida, out-of-state IDs or passports are also accepted. Depending on the agency requirements, you may also need to provide your ORI or OCA number at the time of your appointment.

What information will I need to provide at my appointment?

To complete your fingerprint submission, certain information is required by the State of Florida and the FBI.
Please be prepared to provide the following details at your appointment:

Full legal name
Date of birth
Social Security Number (you do not need to bring the card if you have it memorized)
Current residential address
Physical characteristics — height, weight, hair color, and eye color
Place of birth (city and state or country)

What if my fingerprint submission requires a photo?

No worries — if your ORI number requires a photo to be submitted along with your fingerprints, we’ll take care of that during your appointment. Our office is equipped for FDLE-compliant digital photography, so everything is handled in one visit. Please make sure your hair is pulled back if needed and be ready to remove glasses or hats for the photo.

What is a TCN Number?

The TCN (Transaction Control Number) is a unique code assigned to your fingerprint submission. It helps identify your specific transaction in the State system. At the end of your appointment, our technician will provide your TCN — you can either take a photo of it or write it down for your records. While you may not need it again, it’s a good idea to keep this number, as your licensing or regulatory agency may request it for reference.

How do I get my background screening results?

Your background check results are sent directly to the State and the requesting agency or employer — OrazAva Live Scan does not receive or store this information. Our role is to capture your fingerprints and securely transmit them to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) for processing. If you’d like to check the status of your submission, you can visit the FDLE Check Status page available through the menu on our website. You’ll need your TCN (Transaction Control Number) to look up your submission. For questions about your results, please contact your employer, licensing agency, or FDLE directly at (850) 410-8161.

What if my employer doesn’t see my results in their system?

OrazAva Live Scan is responsible only for capturing and submitting your fingerprints securely to the State for processing. If your employer or licensing agency hasn’t received your background screening results yet, they should contact the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) directly at (850) 410-8161 and provide your TCN (Transaction Control Number) for reference.

Can I get a copy of my fingerprints?

Fingerprints taken at OrazAva Live Scan are securely submitted to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) as encrypted digital files. Because these files are transmitted directly to the State and require special software to access, they aren’t available for personal printing or sharing. If you need fingerprints on a physical FD-258 card, please let us know before your appointment — we offer that service separately.

What if I need to submit fingerprints to more than one ORI number?

Accepted Answer

No problem — if your background screenings are required for multiple agencies or employers, you’ll need to complete a separate fingerprint submission for each ORI number.
Simply book two appointments back-to-back, and our technician will take care of both during your visit.
Please note that each submission is processed and billed separately, as each ORI number represents a unique State request.
